Confidence means the feeling or belief that one can have faith in. Privacy means a state in which one is not observed or disturbed by other people. And mystery means something that is difficult or impossible to understand or explain. The combination of confidence, privacy and mystery within Christ will be beneficial in any christian’s life. In this post we will look at the essence of being confident within Christ while being private but at the same time also mysterious.
True Confidence
True confidence is found within Christ. why? because you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you, as written in Philippians 4:13. True confidence does not come from yourself, but from Christ. It is having the understanding that you can’t do anything without the strength of Christ. But with Christ everything is possible.
Why do we have confidence in Christ? because as written in Philipians 4:10-11 ‘so that at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow [in submission], of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, [Is 45:23] and that every tongue will confess and openly acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord (sovereign God), to the glory of God the Father. ‘ -AMP
The previous bible verse talks about the fact that the name of Jesus is above every other name. And that we can trust in him and be confident in him because His name is the only name that has all power. Jesus died on the cross for our sins even though he never sinned and God raised him back from the dead. Because of this anyone who believes and has confidence in him will be saved, have eternal life and be reconciled back to God. When you have confidence in Christ you can do all things, why? because you believe in the name that has all power.
True Privacy
You become private when you understand that you have an enemy, satan, that is out kill and destroy you. Just like the story in the bible where Maria and Joseph had to flee to a different place because king Herod was out to kill Jesus. The devil can use anyone to carry out his plans and destroy your destiny.
When you understand the essence of privacy, you understand that you need to discern who, how and to what extend you share your personal details. Wisdom, in this particular situation, is knowing that even though God can protect us, we also need to play a role in setting boundaries with those around us in order to ensure healthy relationships while protecting your peace.
Privacy through Christ means not worrying about everything and ending up oversharing everything with others. Instead praying about everything, putting it in the hands of the one who can change everything around, while being thankful for what He has already done. And trusting that God will solve or bring the right people on your path that will be able to help you in His right timing. When you do this you will experience the peace of God, while at the same time protecting the peace God has given you through being private.
True Mystery
‘Understand this, my beloved brothers and sisters. Let everyone be quick to hear [be a careful, thoughtful listener], slow to speak [a speaker of carefully chosen words and], slow to anger [patient, reflective, forgiving]; ‘
James 1:19 -AMP
Someone that is able to be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to anger will be someone that will be very pleasant to be around while at the same time be unpredictable. Unpredictability is needed in situations where you want to move in silence to protect what God is doing in your life. There will be times when the Holy Spirit might lead you to be private about a plan that God has for your life.
The key to not oversharing and giving people information that they might not even be interested in, is through being quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to anger. When you listen to understand, learn, support, help and show compassion. While being slow to speak through asking questions and thinking before you say anything. And also being slow to anger by not taking anything personal and getting offended easily. You will be a very pleasant person to be around. While also having the chance to be concious of what you share, how you share it and to what extend you share it. This will make you mysterious through Christ.
