If you have been struggling to implement habits and self-discipline in your life to reach goals, you may start worrying about your future. This post will give practical advice on how to cure anxiety.
Seek First the Kingdom of God
You may have been trying to plan your life for a while now, and failing every single time. We live in a society that encourages self-discipline, habits, self-care and much more. And all these things are good. But as you plan and fail, you start to realise that anxiety and worry starts to creep in.
You start to worry because you can’t plan your future. This is when you realize that you should stop planning and seek the kingdom of God first and everything that you are trying to implement will fall into place. You don’t have to worry about your habits and plans. Because when you seek the kingdom of God these things will fall into place.
The Will of God
The bible says in Proverbs 19:21 that many are the plans of a mans heart, but it is the will of God that will prevail. It may be that the habits that you are trying to implement is not the will of God. Seeking the kingdom of God will reveal the habits that God wants you to implement. And this will allow God to lead you further.
If you are struggling with something consistently for a long period of time. It may either not be in the will of God or it is not the right time yet. so being sensitive to the will of God is important. God will not encourage anything that is not in His will. Knowing the will of God is essential for curing anxiety.
Having Faith in Word of God
If you have read my previous posts before, I may sound like a broken record now. But having faith in the word of God will prevent you from unnecessary struggles in life. The bible says in Isaiah 55:8-9 that the thoughts and ways of the Lord is higher than our ways and thoughts. Thinking our way is the best way is most often what leads us down the wrong road. Having faith in the word of God will protect you and allow the Holy Spirit to lead you.
Do you have faith enough in God? Do you trust that the Word of God is the right way of life? Are you willing to obey the word of God? these are questions you need to ask yourself. You need to be honest and get to the root of your actions. The word of God will never lead you astray. It will always stay and remain the right compendium for life.
Spending time in the Presence of God
The habit of starting each day in the presence of God will help you to implement habits and self-discipline. When you spend time in the presence of God the Holy Spirit grants you the strength through the grace of God. The bible says in Mark 1:35 that jesus got up early in the morning to spend time in the presence of God. Jesus was busy during the day performing miracles and doing the will of God. Jesus had to draw strength from God to succesfully go about his day.
You also need to spend time in the presence of God to be able to succesfully go through your days. Spending time in the presence of God can look like praying, reading the bible, worshipping etc etc. Whatever the Holy Spirit leads you to. If you spend time in the presence of God you allow the Holy spirit to lead you throughout the day. When you are led by the Holy Spirit you will not only implement your habits sucessfully. But you will be able to live righteously while doing the will of God.
